To be eligible to win the North American Truck of the Year Award, a vehicle must be "all-new" or "substantially changed". At this year's Detroit Auto Show, Ford's beloved Explorer earned the title, beating out other top models like the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Durango. Hybrid Technology in All Ford Models

Ford will soon be coming out with more hybrid technology than most other auto makers. The technology that makes hybrid vehicles so efficient and carbon friendly will soon be featured in non-hybrid cars. Ford has recently announced that the Auto Start-Stop technology, which has been used in gasoline-electric hybrids since 2004, will be introduced in conventional automobiles, crossovers and SUVs in North America beginning in 2012.
