Mercury Dealers Want More Before Closing

The end of Mercury is looming: in less than two months the final Mercury models will roll off assembly lines. No more new Mariners and Milans. The circular logo will cease to exist.

With that, 1700 Mercury-specific dealerships nationwide are either closing their doors or morphing into the LINCOLN brand. 1000 dealers signed an agreement with Ford (Mercury's parent company) to take a moderate sum of money and walk on. But many of those 1000 are starting to feel like they've been a little stiffed.

Mercury Comet and Its 89 Year Old Owner

Rachel Veitch of Orlando, Fla. was determined to have her Mercury Comet on hand every day of her life. So far, it's going pretty well.

The 89 (going on 90) year old is still rocking hard in her 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente. That vehicle has 557,000 miles on it. It has outlasted all three of her ex husbands - and unlike those men the vehicle has "never lied to me, never cheated on me, and I can always depend on her."
